May 2— “Faith Sound” will lead worship.
“Faith Sound” is an inter-denominational contemporary musical group from Harlan, Iowa, now in its 35th year. Members of the group are students in 8th-12th grades, and represent ten churches from Harlan and the surrounding area. 263 students have been members of Faith Sound (including Brad Jensen, Farren Waddell, Nathan Johnson, and Geoff Bryant). The purpose of Faith Sound is to share God’s Word through a ministry of music. We will also commission those going on the college work trip to Denver during worship.

May 9—Mother’s Day / Christian Family Week
“Who Will Witness?” will be the worship theme, based on the challenge for the church after Jesus’ ascension in Acts 1:1-11 and Acts 16:14-15.

May 16 — Graduation Sunday
High School Seniors will be recognized and some will help lead worship. “Rejoice in Being Believers” will be the worship focus, based on Acts 16:16-34. The Chancel Choir will sing “One Faith, One Hope, One Lord.”
Following worship there will be a reception for the graduates .

May 23 — Pentecost Sunday—Confirmation
“Life-long Christians” will be the worship focus, based on Psalm 146:2 and Acts 2. We will have Confirmation and reception of new members. Holy Communion will be celebrated. The Chancel Choir will sing “Fill-A Me Up” with a percussion ensemble. The Bell Choir will play “Blessed Assurance/Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring.” The Pentecost Offering will be received and a Noisy Offering will be received for the Soles for Souls School Shoe vouchers. This will be the Last Day for Sunday School until fall.
Following worship there will be a reception for the confirmands .

May 30 - Memorial Sunday
“Hope Does Not Disappoint Us” will be the worship theme, based on Romans 5:1-5. The Chancel Choir will sing “Joshua Fit de Battle of Jericho.”
